I think what has struck a raw nerve in many of the respondents to the job-seeker is that in seeking help for getting a job, and that too from a community dedicated to Hindutva, totally uncalled for references to the very divisions within us that we seek to eradicate are brought up inappropriately. However, I think if the job seeker was described as "from a poor Dalit family" instead of "from an upper class Hindu family" we, far from being jolted, would have felt it even more our duty to help such an unfortunate person. This only reveals that we of the Hindutva persuasion sometimes unknowingly get caught in caste prejudices and guilt of the past. We must remember Hindutiva is of the future and not the past. We must discard all our past weaknesses and inspire others who have not yet become free.

Meanwhile, having chided the friend of the "upper class" job seeker, I think it is time somebody actually reached out to help him. I am sure, being inspired by us, he will not in future think in such fractious upper-lower dichotomy – even as would not a so-called Dalit if inspired by us.
